2019-20 CCHL2 1st & 2nd All-Star Teams

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 is proud to announce it’s 1st and 2nd all star teams.

CCHL2 1st All Star Team

F – Blake Kettyle (Westport Rideaus)

’99 born player is in his final season with the Westport Rideaus. He has set the all time record in CCHL2 history in assists (154) and points (269). He is second in CCHL2 history in goals with 115, nine back of former Casselman Vikings forward Sebastien Plante. This season, he led the league in goals (39), assists (51), points (90) and game winning goals (9). This is his second straight season being on the 1st All Star team.

F – Sean Kearns (Ottawa West Golden Knights)

Kearns, 18, is in his second full season with the Ottawa West Golden Knights. Last season, Kearns only tallied eight goals and six assists. This season, has been a career season to remember. He was tied for 8th in goals (27), second in the league with assists (47) and second among players in points (74).

F – Nicolas Seguin (Ottawa Jr. Canadians)

Seguin, 20, is in his final season of his junior hockey career. He set a season high in goals with 30 and was tied for second among players in that category. He also added 32 assists and 62 points in 42 games with OJC this season.

D – Reid Oliver (Carleton Place Jr. Canadians)

Oliver, 18, has delivered in his first season with Carleton Place. He ranked second among Defenseman’s with goals (13). He collected seven assists and 20 points in 35 games this season. Oliver is also first among rookie defenseman’s in goals.

D – Ryan Nielsen (Winchester Hawks)

Nielsen, 21, is in his final year of his junior hockey career. He was tied for 7th among Defenseman’s in goals (8), was first among Defenseman’s with assists (33) and points (41). Throughout his CCHL2 career, he has played in 126 games and had nine goals, 48 assists and 58 points.

G – William Nguyen (Embrun Panthers)

Nguyen, 18, has been one of the best goalies this season. He is a Nepean Raiders prospect who turned away 63 of 64 shots in his debut on December 12th vs Cornwall. This season, he was 17-9-1, to go along with three shutouts, posting a 2.06 GAA / .943 SV% in his first season in CCHL2.

HC – Darrell Campbell (Embrun Panthers)

Campbell, was able to turn around this team after having a very tough year in 2018-19. He led Embrun to 28 wins which ties a franchise record for the most wins in a season. He will look to set a franchise record in wins this upcoming Wednesday night.

GM – Dominic Menard (Winchester Hawks)

Menard, was also able to turn this team around after having back-to-back losing seasons. Helped Winchester finished over .500 for the first time since CCHL2 came into existence. He also helped the Winchester Hawks clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2016-17.

CCHL2 2nd All Star Team

F – Sean James (Westport Rideaus)

James, 17, is in his rookie season after playing with the Smiths Fall Bears Midget AAA. He leads all rookies in goals (29), assists (42) and points (71). James is also ranked in the top 10 of scoring. He is 6th in goals, 3rd in assists and points. He has also played two games as a call up with the Smiths Falls Bears.

F – Jack Haymes (Ottawa West Golden Knights)

Haymes, 18, is in his first season with the Golden Knights after playing Ottawa Sting Midget AA for three years. This season, he is tied for 8th in goals (27), fourth in assists (40) and fourth in points (67). He was also tied for third in the league in power play goals (10).

F – Joseph Samson (Char-Lan Rebels)

Samson, 20, will have one more year with the Char-Lan Rebels after this season is over. He spent two seasons with Cornwall and then last year with Kemptville in CCHL Tier 1. This season, he was tied for 10th in goals (26), 15th in assists (30) and 7th among the league in points (56).

D – Mike Hall (Ottawa Jr. Canadians)

Hall, 20, is part of the second all star team for the second straight year and is in his final season with the Ottawa Jr. Canadians. This season, he was 7th among Defenseman’s in goals (8), 5th in assists (23), and tied for 3rd among Defenseman’s in points (31). In his career, Hall has played 167 games and collected 18 goals, 67 assists and 85 points.

D – Sam Brown (Ottawa West Golden Knights)

Brown, 19, has been one of the most improved Defenseman’s this season after only collecting 8 assists last year. This season, he has six goals which ranks 16th among Defenseman’s, his 25 assists and 31 points ranks 4th among Defenseman’s in that category.

G – Ryan Whitehurst (Ottawa Jr. Canadians)

Whitehurst, 20, was part of the CCHL2 1st All Star team last year. This year, he is part of the 2nd All Star Teams. In his final season with the Ottawa Jr. Canadians, he is 17-5-2, to go along with two shutouts and posting a 2.29 GAA / .935 SV%.

HC – Bob Gould (Winchester Hawks)

Gould, finishes his third season as the Hawks Head Coach, guiding them to 23 wins on the season. He led the Hawks by finishing in 5th place in the Martin Division and 9th in the league standings. Winchester’s .619 winning percentage sets a franchise record for winning percentage since CCHL2 came in existence.

GM – Darrell Campbell (Embrun Panthers)

Campbell, finishes his third season with the Embrun Panthers since the Metcalfe Jets moved to Embrun. He went with a more younger team at ages between 17-19, with no 20 year old players. Embrun is the 5th youngest team in CCHL2 this season.
