Aeros Rhett Palmer tabbed as 2024-25 Sportsmanship & Ability Award recipient

 

OTTAWA, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is proud to announce that Rhett Palmer of the Athens Aeros has been named the recipient of the prestigious 2024-25 Sportsmanship & Ability Award.

A native of Canton, NY, born in 2004, Palmer has had an outstanding season, finishing 6th in EOJHL scoring with 60 points (26 goals, 34 assists) in just 38 games. His exceptional performance on the ice was matched by his remarkable discipline, as Palmer finished the season with zero penalty minutes for the second consecutive year—demonstrating his ability to be both a dynamic, productive player and a key contributor who doesn’t put his team at a disadvantage.

In addition to his scoring prowess, Palmer has been an invaluable asset on the penalty kill, tallying 2 goals and 3 assists while his team was shorthanded. Over his career, Palmer has amassed an impressive 98 goals and 193 points in 140 combined regular season and postseason games.

The Athens Aeros are gearing up for their 2024-25 Barkley Cup Playoff campaign, which begins tonight as they face the Richmond Royals.
