Casselman, ON – Game 1 of the Barkley Cup Final turned into a statement performance from the Casselman Vikings, who erupted for seven unanswered goals to blank the Smiths Falls Jr. Bears 7–0 on home ice. After a scoreless opening period, Casselman took complete control, showcasing their depth, speed, and finishing ability to grab an early series lead.

After a quiet first period, the Vikings flipped the switch in the second—and never looked back.
Tristan Witmer opened the scoring at 4:25, finishing off a setup from Jeremy Bessette and Kaleb Fogarty to spark the breakout. Just over a minute later, Tristan Simoneau doubled the lead, converting off an Alexis Lafrance feed.
Simoneau struck again late in the period, burying his second of the night to give Casselman a commanding 3–0 lead heading into the third.
From there, it was all Vikings.
Simon Toupin extended the lead early in the third, followed by Kaleb Fogarty capitalizing midway through the frame. The floodgates stayed open as Maximus Patenaude added his first of the playoffs before Mathieu Cloutier capped off the night with Casselman’s seventh goal.
Between the pipes, Myles Boudreau was flawless, stopping all 19 shots he faced to record the shutout.
Matthew Saari was under siege all night for Smiths Falls, turning aside 39 shots in the loss.
