Arnprior Packers Acquire Cory Kippen From Richmond Royals

Ottawa, Ontario – The Arnprior Packers announced today that they have acquired ’00 Defenceman Cory Kippen from the Richmond Royals in exchange for ’01 Forward Zach Awada, ’01 Defenceman Jackson McElheran and a PDF.

Kippen, 18, suited up in just two games with the Royals this year. Last year, he played for the Whitewater Kings in the CCHL Tier 2, posting six assists in 40 games. The Arnprior, Ontario, native came up through the Upper OV Aces Minor Hockey program before making the jump to junior.

“Cory is a smooth skater that can lead a breakout and run a power-play. We are thrilled to add such a great player on and off the ice,” said the Arnprior Packers Twitter account today (@PackersHockey).

The Royals acquire Zach Awada and Jackson McElheran who are two 17-year-old players that are in their first season of junior hockey. Awada played for the Kemptville 73’s Midget AAA team last year, 12 goals and 27 points in 39 games. McElheran was on the Nepean Raiders Midget AAA team during the 2017-18 campaign, notching six points in 34 games.
