Ottawa, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is pleased to announce that Cameron Sheppard of the Arnprior Packers has been named the 2025-26 EOJHL Top Prospect.
The Top Prospect Award is voted annually to the league’s top 2008 or 2009-born player.
Sheppard, a 2009-born rookie from Stittsville, ON, delivered one of the most remarkable rookie seasons in EOJHL history. He led all rookie skaters with 37 goals and 91 points in 41 games, finishing third overall among the league’s top scorers.
His 91-point campaign stands as the most points recorded by a 16-year-old in the Internet era and ranks third all-time among 16-year-olds in league history — trailing only Dave Dixie (141 points in 1970-71) and Christian Skoryna (106 points in 1989-90).
Sheppard’s offensive instincts, pace of play, and ability to produce in all situations were key components of Arnprior’s Richardson Division championship season.
From AAA standout to junior star, Sheppard’s progression has been rapid. After developing through the Ottawa Valley Titans program, he stepped into the EOJHL this season and immediately established himself as one of the premier young talents in the league.
The EOJHL congratulates Cameron and the Arnprior Packers on a historic rookie campaign.
