Carleton Place wins in OT to lead series 2-0, and Ottawa takes game one

Ottawa, ON – Carleton Place wins in OT for the second consecutive night to lead their series 2-0 and Ottawa dominates Char-Lan in Game one.

F/OT | Carleton Place 5, Westport 4 

U18 call up Bill Gourgon ends the night with two goals, one assist and the overtime winner. He now has four points in his first two playoff games with the Tier 2 squad. Spencer Marshall also had two goals including the tying goal late in the third.

The Canadians have now won four straight playoff games. Blake Kettyle and Hugh McHugh each registered 1 G / 1 A in the Westport loss. Carleton Place outshot Westport 41-37. Game three goes inside the Westport Community Arena on Saturday night.

F | Ottawa 6, Char-Lan 2

OJC scored five unanswered goals in a dominating second period to take game one. Nicholas Seguin and Johnny Pickering each collect 1 G / 2 A. Ottawa went 3-for-5 on the power play. Giordano, Saumur and Freel also added 1 G / 1 A.

Testani and Sabourin had the only goals for Char-Lan. Ottawa outshot the Rebels 44-23. Game two goes Thursday night in Williamstown.
