Casselman takes a 2-0 series lead and Carleton Place wins game one

Ottawa, ON – Fans were treated to a great rivalry between Casselman vs Ottawa West at the Barbara Ann Scott Arena and Carleton Place started their series on the road against Westport.

The Vikings three goal first period was the difference in game 2. Shawn Patterson collects 1 G / 1 A for the second consecutive game. Samuel Mattie tallies two goals and Frédérick Gagnier gets the GWG and has three goals in the first two games of the series.

Cloutier and Hunt each had two assists. Jamer and Marshall each tally the power-play goals in the second period for Ottawa West. Both teams combined for 60 PIM in an intense game. Game 3 goes Thursday night in Casselman with puck drop scheduled for 7:30pm.

It was a low scoring affair in game one of a best of seven series. James Lister collects the overtime winner and Jake Code had his first goal of the playoffs. Owen Bennett made 33-saves in the win.

Alex Zoutis was also excellent in net, making 37-saves in the loss. Hayden Mongeon register the tying goal in the third period. The Canadians have now won three consecutive playoff games if you count the two wins against Renfrew.
