Ottawa, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is pleased to announce that Jeremy Bessette of the Casselman Vikings has been named the 2025-26 EOJHL Top Defenseman.
The 2006-born Bourget, ON native was a pillar on the Vikings’ back end throughout the season, combining stability in all situations with high-end offensive production.
Bessette appeared in all 44 regular season games, recording 10 goals and 48 assists for 58 points, finishing second among all defensemen in league scoring.
More than just numbers, Bessette played significant minutes in all key situations, contributing to Casselman finishing first overall in the EOJHL standings with 77 points while allowing just 95 goals, one of the league’s top defensive marks.
The EOJHL Top Defenseman Award recognizes the blueliner who demonstrates elite performance, consistency, and overall impact throughout the regular season.
