CCM JANUARY PERFORMERS OF THE MONTH

Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 is pleased to announce it’s CCM Hockey January Performers of the Month. Whitewater Kings forward Dylan Kuehl takes home of the Player of the Month, Ottawa Jr. Canadians tender Ryan Whitehurst is the Goalie of the Month and forward Tyler Toomey of the Brockville Tikis earns of the Rookie of the Month award.

POTM: ’01 F Dylan Kuehl (Whitewater Kings)

Kuehl, 17, scored 10-goals and 8-assists 9-games last month – totaling two game-winning-goals and five multi-point games, including a massive five-point effort against Athens. The Killaloe, Ontario native is in his second season with the Kings after coming out of the Upper OV Aces Midget AA squad in 2017. Kuehl helped Whitewater to a 4-4-1 record in January and is currently on a 13-game point-streak. This season, the 5’10 forward has 20-goals, 25-assists and 45-points in 35-games.

Carleton Place ’00 F Kyle Lightfoot (4G/9A)

GOTM: ’99 G Ryan Whitehurst (Ottawa Jr. Canadians)

Whitehurst, 19, went 5-0 last month, posting a 2.20 GAA / .925 SV % as the Canadians starting goaltender. The 2X goalie of the month winner (September) made a season high 33-saves in his final start on January 29th against Casselman and made faced over 20-shots in all five of his outings. The former CCHL2 Goalie of the Year has allowed three goals or less in 16 straight starts. The Ottawa native leads all goaltenders in wins (23), GAA (1.96), SV % (.924) and is T-1st in shutouts with four this season.

Brockville ’00 G Jordan Yaremchuk (6-1, 1 SO, 2.31 GAA / .917 SV%)

Perth ’98 G Johnathan Peacock (4-1-1, 1 SO, 2.82 GAA / .917 SV %)

ROTM: ’01 F  Tyler Toomey (Brockville Tikis)

Toomey, 17, scored seven goals and four assists in seven games last month, helping the Tikis go 6-1 and to the number one spot in the Richardson Division. During his 11-point month, Toomey scored his second career hat-trick and had a five-point game against Westport, finishing with three multi-point games, with two of them being multi-goal efforts. The Hillsburgh, Ontario native among rookies ranks 2nd in assists (24), T-3rd in points (42) and 5th in goals (18).
