Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 is proud to announce it’s CCM Hockey October Performers of the Month. Westport Rideaus player Blake Kettyle takes home the Player of the Month, Ottawa West Golden Knights goaltender William McEvoy is the Goaltender of the Month and forward Sean James of the Westport Rideaus earns the Rookie of the Month award.
POTM: ’99 Blake Kettyle (Westport Rideaus)
Kettyle, 20, scored 15-goals and 12-assists in 9-games in October – totaled five game winning goals to go along with five three-point games. He also collected a season high seven points in a game when he scored four times to go along with three assists on October 12th against Alexandria. It was also the first time this season that Kettyle scored four goals in back-to-back games between Oct 11th-Oct 12th. This Season Kettyle has 19 goals, 21 assists and 40 points in 16 games.

Ottawa ’01 Noel de Kemp (7 GP, 6 G, 10 A, 16 PTS)
Ottawa West ’01 Sean Kearns (10 GP, 9 G, 6 A, 15 PTS)
GOTM: ’02 William McEvoy (Ottawa West Golden Knights)
McEvoy, 17, went 4-1 last month, posting a 1.77 GAA / .933 SV% to go along with 2 shutouts. The Golden Knights netminder made 30 saves for his first career CCHL2 shutout back on October 10th against Brockville where he made 30 saves. His second shutout came against Athens on Halloween night (Oct 31st) and made 18 saves. This season he is second among goaltenders in GAA (1.84), tied for 6th in the league with wins (6) and is 5th in Save Percentage (.935 SV%).

Renfrew ’99 Ethan Lapenskie (3-0-1, 1 SO, 1.49 GAA / .942 SV%)
Embrun ’02 Felix Schnell (2-0-1, 1 SO, 1.94 GAA / .940 SV %)
ROTM: ’02 Sean James (Westport Rideaus)
James, 17, tallied seven goals and nine assists in nine games last month. In September, he took home the player of the month award. He had a career high in points in a game with five (1 G / 4 A) on October 12th against Alexandria. He has now collected at least one point in 15 of the 16 games this season. As of now, James is currently on a 13-game point streak with 10 goals and 14 assists. He is also 2nd in the league with points (30) and is leading all rookies in points and assists.
