Ottawa, ON – Two road teams came away with statement victories on Wednesday night as the Perth Blue Wings snapped Arnprior’s long winning streak, while the Renfrew Timberwolves battled past Richmond in a shootout thriller. Both games featured momentum swings, multi-goal performances, and late-game drama that reshaped the standings race.
Perth 7, Arnprior 3
Arnprior opened the scoring early as Reid Bishop gave the Packers a 1–0 lead at 3:46 of the first period, finishing a play set up by Rowan Casey and Brendan Lynch. Perth responded midway through the frame when Owen Adams tied the game at 12:10, converting a feed from Jory Leakey to send the teams into the intermission even at 1–1.
The Blue Wings took control in the second period, starting with a shorthanded goal from Colby Hunter at 6:44, assisted by Max Shewfelt, to give Perth its first lead. Arnprior answered back with Carter Downs finishing a play from Tyler Bell at 11:33, before reclaiming the lead moments later when Ian Kennedy struck on the power play at 15:10.
Perth erupted in the third period, scoring five unanswered goals to pull away. Deven Uppal tied the game at 3:05, followed just 41 seconds later by Phoenix Anderson, who put the visitors ahead with his first of two goals on the night. Anderson struck again at 8:25 to extend the lead before Colby Hunter added his second of the game at 10:18. Max Shewfelt capped the scoring at 14:52, finishing a play from Phoenix Anderson and Arjun Uppal.
Jake Dignard earned the win in goal for Perth, stopping 36 of 39 shots. Tristan Hodgson took the loss for Arnprior, with Cole King finishing the game in relief. The win lifts Perth to 8-15-1-1, while Arnprior suffers its first loss in 12 games, falling to 20-6-0-0.
Renfrew 5, Richmond 4 (SO)
Richmond came out flying and built a 3–0 first-period lead. Dylan Cutts opened the scoring just 51 seconds in, followed by Schylar Schapelhouman at 3:41. The Royals made it 3–0 at 14:38 when Nicholas Milbury scored shorthanded, finishing a sequence started by Dylan Cutts and Remy St. Amand.
Renfrew stormed back in the second period, beginning with Ian Burnett scoring his first of the season just 59 seconds in. Logan Fleury followed at 2:22, and Liam Haggerty tied the game at 3:26 as the Timberwolves erased the deficit in under three minutes. Richmond regained the lead at 8:35 when Dylan Cutts netted his second of the night, set up by Nicholas Milbury and Kevin Zhu.
The Timberwolves forced overtime late in regulation when Blake Egan scored at 17:56 of the third period, finishing a play from Parker Evans and Cole McLelland to make it 4–4.
After a scoreless overtime, Renfrew prevailed in the shootout as Ricky Wilson and Blake Egan converted, while Dawson Zadorozny shut the door. Zadorozny earned the win after stopping 25 of 26 shots in relief, while Sam Nolan made 43 saves for Richmond in the loss.
Renfrew improves to 12-13-1-1, while Richmond falls to 12-13-0-2 following the shootout defeat.
