Ottawa, ON – Thursday night featured two very different storylines: Glengarry went on the road and handed Ottawa West a rare home loss with a composed, resilient effort, while Casselman dominated Carleton Place from start to finish to continue their impressive run.
Glengarry 4 Ottawa West 2
Glengarry set the tone early and never trailed, beginning with Joshua Baker’s opening-period strike at 5:56, assisted by Zach Boltz. The Brigade doubled their lead just over a minute into the second frame when Derek Larocque buried his 13th of the season, again with Boltz involved on the setup as he continued a strong night.
Ottawa West pushed back with two goals in the middle period—Marcus Mazzuca cut the deficit to one at 3:25, and Cooper Moore tied the game on a power play at 10:47, with William McCulligh and Carter Pilon drawing assists. Despite the momentum shift, Glengarry held firm defensively and leaned heavily on goaltender Maxime Mayer, who delivered one of his best performances of the season.
In the third, the Brigade found the breakthrough they needed. With 2:23 remaining, Hayden Mader finished a late push to put Glengarry back on top, converting a feed from Brady Bell. Ottawa West pulled the goalie to search for the equalizer, but it was Glengarry’s Carter Rolland who sealed the victory with an empty-netter at 19:59.
Mayer was outstanding throughout, stopping 39 of 41 shots to earn the win. Dustin Riff turned aside 30 of 33 for the Golden Knights in the loss.
With the victory, Glengarry improves to 12-8-2-1, while Ottawa West drops to 18-4-2-0, marking their second straight defeat.
Casselman 7 Carleton Place 1
Casselman erupted offensively on home ice and never looked back, overwhelming Carleton Place with a seven-goal outburst. The Vikings struck early when Thomas Ranger opened the scoring at 4:04, and although Carleton Place answered just 11 seconds later through Brady Barnes, the night quickly shifted in Casselman’s favour.
Skyler Beks restored the lead at 6:33, and Bodhi Matthew extended it later in the first with his first of the season, giving Casselman a 3–1 advantage after 20 minutes. The Vikings kept rolling into the second, with Cédric Ouimet finishing a setup from Marc-Olivier McCarthy to make it 4–1.
The third period was all Casselman. McCarthy added a power-play marker at 6:21, Jeremy Bessette followed with his fifth of the year, and McCarthy capped the night with his second goal and ninth of the season in the final minute. Bessette (1G, 2A) and McCarthy (2G, 1A) both recorded three-point games, while Ranger and Matthew chipped in multi-point efforts as well.
Myles Boudreau stood tall for Casselman, stopping 16 of 17 shots. At the other end, Callum Clare made an incredible 51 saves on 58 shots in the loss.
Casselman improves to 18-4-0-0, continuing their strong hold on the top of the standings, while Carleton Place falls to 7-14-2-0.
