Ottawa, Ontario – The Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2 is proud to announce that Casselman Vikings President Sylvain Dignard is the 2018-19 George Giroux Memorial Award winner, which given out to the leagues top executive.

Dignard now finishes off his ninth season with the Vikings. He joined Casselman with General Manager Ray Lavergne after winning two championships with the Alexandria Glens in 2007 and 2008. He now has eight rings between the Glens and the Vikings.

The CCHL2 Chairman of the Board started coaching in minor hockey when he was young, and moved onto the EOHL (Jr. B level) in the 2000’s. He wears many hats, as he does the Casselman Vikings administrative work and is their bus driver. As the President of the club, he also acts as an Assistant GM to Ray Lavergne, as they’re both in minor hockey rinks and looking for players constantly. Sylvain Dignard also does not miss any practices and fully devoted to winning. Him and the Vikings say “we don’t leave any rock unturned.”

Him and the Casselman Vikings look to win their sixth straight championship when they begin their post-season against the Ottawa West Golden Knights on Sunday March 3rd at home.
