OTTAWA, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is excited to unveil the 2024-25 All-Rookie Team, recognizing the outstanding achievements of the league’s top first-year players.
Forward – Nate Curson (Athens Aeros)
A 2007-born standout from Mallorytown, ON, Curson led all rookies with an impressive 39 goals and 69 points in 48 games, showcasing his remarkable scoring ability and offensive presence.
Forward – Dylan Turcotte (Ottawa Jr Canadians)
From Orleans, ON, Turcotte, also born in 2007, recorded 28 goals and 61 points in just 27 games played, earning the highest point-per-game average among all rookie skaters. His exceptional playmaking and goal-scoring talent set him apart in his inaugural season.
Forward – Carter Downs (Arnprior Packers)
Ottawa, ON’s Downs, born in 2008, tallied 19 goals and 53 points in 48 games, finishing as the top point-producing skater among the 2008-born rookies in the league, demonstrating consistent offensive contributions throughout the season.
Defenseman – Owen Devlin (Carleton Place Jr Canadians)
A 2008-born product from Carleton Place, ON, Devlin finished as the second-highest scoring rookie defenseman, accumulating 38 points (8G, 30A) in 47 games. His all-around play and offensive ability made him a key asset for the Jr Canadians.
Defenseman – Toby Almstedt (Ottawa Jr Canadians)
Ottawa’s own Almstedt, born in 2007, dominated among rookie defensemen, finishing with 52 points (13G, 39A) in just 32 games. His offensive prowess and exceptional vision on the ice made him the top-scoring rookie blueliner in the league.
Goaltender – Colton Rheaume (Casselman Vikings)
A 2007-born netminder from Cornwall, ON, Rheaume posted an outstanding 19-2-0 record, with a 1.99 GAA, .935 SV%, and two shutouts. His stellar play between the pipes was a key factor in the Vikings’ success this season.
