Ottawa, Ontario – As a result of the current health status and the new Omicron variant happening in Ontario, the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League has announced that the board of governors unanimously agreed to suspend EOJHL operations until the new year.

This comes right after multiple games were postponed throughout the weekend. All games that were remaining in the month of December will be rescheduled in 2022. The EOJHL will have an emergency board of governors meeting next week to discuss a possible date for a return to play.

“This is just another example of how the owners in the EOJHL put a priority on providing a safe environment for the players to play the game they love”, said EOJHL Commissioner Marc Franche on games being postponed until next year.

The EOJHL would like to wish all players, coaches, executives and fans a safe and happy holidays throughout the remainder of 2021 and will see you in 2022.
