Friday Recap | Brockville and Athens grab victories

Ottawa, Ontario – The Brockville Tikis and Athens Aeros grabbed victories on Friday night.

F | Brockville 8, Renfrew 4 

Tyler Toomey (3G/1A) and Ryan Hunter (3G/2A) each scored a hat-trick in the Tikis 14th win, improving to 5-1-2 in December.

Hunter’s five-point game set a new career high for points scored in a game. Shots were 46-43 for Brockville.

In the Renfrew loss, Brad Richardson scored twice and Andrew McIntyre tallied two assists, extending his CCHL2 scoring lead with 60 points.

F | Athens 2, Arnprior 1 

Matt Berry’s 12th of the season 12:32 into the third period gave Athens a one-goal lead, which they held for the rest of the game after being outshot 16-6 in the third. Overall they were outshot 45-32.

Chad Cherry scored his first of the season in the Arnprior loss. They fall to 2-7 in December while the Athens Aeros move to 5-2 this month. They’ll meet again or the second of there home-and-home series tonight at Centre 76 in Athens, Ontario.
