Friday Recap | Five Games

Ottawa, ON – It was a busy Friday night with five games. It also determined the #1 – #3 seeds in the Martin Division. While in the Richardson Division, it will be a race to the finish as one of those teams will win the Division Title.

F | Westport 10, Arnprior 3

The Rideaus went on to score nine unanswered goals in the first two periods and then would score one more for double digits. It’s the second time that Westport collects 10 goals in a game. The last time they did that was on October 27th 2019 against Renfrew in a 10-3 win.

Barresti scores twice while McHugh had 1 G / 2 A in a three-point night. Nicholson, Ieradi and Boisclair all tally 1 G / 1 A. 14 different Westport players got on the score sheet to get their fourth consecutive win. Bones, Gauthier and Lemay were the only goal scorers for Arnprior.

F | Ottawa 3, Perth 0

The Canadians are coming off a win against Ottawa West on Thursday and were able to shutout Perth on Friday night. Ryan Whitehurst makes 27 saves in his league leading 5th shutout this season. Justin Turner, Johnny Pickering and Devin Saumur were the goal scorers in that game.

OJC has won three consecutive games and end the week 3-0. They also clinched the league title on Thursday night and will finish at the top of the standings. They’ll face the winner of the Martin Division Wild Card series in the Quarter Finals.

F | Ottawa West 6, Embrun 1

The Golden Knights have won five of their last six games. Sam Edwards collects two goals while Dempster, Gallivan and Marshall each had 1 G / 1 A in multi-point games. Brown, Stratis and Mellios also register two assists. Ottawa West outshot Embrun 34-18.

Nathan Brown picked up the only goal for the Panthers. With the Golden Knights win, they’ve officially clinch 3rd place in the Martin Division and will face the Casselman Vikings in the Martin Division Quarter Final Series. Home ice advantage has not been determined.

Meanwhile, Embrun is now in danger of missing the playoffs for the first time in franchise history. The last time they didn’t make the playoffs was in 2013-14 season when the Metcalfe Jets existed. If they lose one more game, they will be officially out of playoff contention.

F | Renfrew 2, Carleton Place 1

Once again, the Timberwolves come in the clutch against Carleton Place. Andrew McIntyre scores on a penalty shot and Gabriel Davis scored the game-winning-goal. Renfrew has won three straight games. Ethan Lapenskie makes 28 saves in the win.

Jamer Lister collects one goal in his return from injury for Carleton Place. The Canadians are 1-3-1 in their last five games.

F/OT | Char-Lan 4, Winchester 3

Evan Huntley scores the biggest OT winner of the season. They are now five points ahead of the Hawks for the 5th and final playoff spot. Brennan Markell collects three assists and Liam MacDonald also had two helpers. Sabourin, Testani and Fiacco had the other goals for Char-Lan.

Kyle Kuehni and Nolan Guertin each had 1 G / 1 A in the Hawks loss. They are 3-0-1 in their last four games while Char-Lan snaps their two game losing streak.
