Five games across the CCHL Tier 2. Three more games tonight.

Perth 5, Whitewater 3

After Whitewater scored the first goal, Perth answered with three unanswered goals of their own in the first period. Both teams would exchange goals in the second and third period. Perth gets their second win of the year.

Jacob Cover and Mack Miller each tallied 1G / 1A for Perth. Whitewater had Artyom Shiman picked up multi-point night. Perth outshot Whitewater 43-28.

Athens 4, Embrun 2

After the Embrun Panthers out-shot the Athens Aeros 38-21 – they have now out-shot their opponents in four of the five games this season and all of them have came in a loss.

Tied at one going to the third, the Athens Aeros found a way to put three goals in four minutes on Panthers goalie Cody MacEachern.

Goerger, McKenney, Servage and Berry tallied one goal for the Aeros. The Panthers had Drost and Patterson scoring. Curtis Hanspiker made 36 saves on the night.

Char-Lan 5, Alexandria 4

A three-goal lead in hockey is never safe. It happened in this game. Glens were leading 3-0 in the first period before the Char-Lan Rebels scored five unanswered goals. Four in the second period and one more in the third. Mathieu Sabourin (2G, 2A) and Brennan Markell (1G, 2A) lead the way to victory combining for seven points on the night.

Biron and Cook had the other goals for Char-Lan while Sauve, St-Surin and Guertin picked up their first goals of the season. Alexandria outshot Char-Lan 32-31. Rebels have won three straight games after losing twice in extra-time at the showcase.

Arnprior 6, Renfrew 3

Packers would find themselves trailing three times in the game. They scored four unanswered goals for their third win of the year, snapping a two-game losing streak. Ty Power put on a show on the ice collecting 2G, 3A for a five-point night. Four of the six goals came on the power play from Arnprior.

For Packers, Miles Chaput had two goals, Johnson with one goal and one apple, and Jorssen tallied two assists. Lambert got a goal for more insurance.

McIntyre (1G, 1A), Crozier and Fleming had goals for Renfrew in the loss. Renfrew outshot Arnprior 34-31.

Casselman 3, Winchester 0

After losing a tight game on Thursday night, the Casselman Vikings were able to bounce back by giving goaltender Mathieu Chénier his first career Tier 2 shutout. Shane Spencer would tally the first goal in the second period followed by two straight goals from Samuel Mattie and Etienne Agius-Pease in the final frame.

Vikings go to 4-2 to start the season while the Hawks have now lost four straight games. Vikings Head Coach Mike Ruest took a puck in the nose during the night but was able to coach the remainder of the game.
