Ottawa, ON – A back-and-forth battle at the capital featured timely goals, momentum swings in every period, and an overtime finish, as Ottawa and Embrun traded blows in an entertaining midweek matchup that was decided in extra time.

Ottawa opened the scoring midway through the first period when Justin Savage buried his first of the season at 11:47, finishing a play set up by Riley Bloom and Mattias Côté. Embrun responded just over four minutes later, as Xavier Boulanger beat Darcy Murphy with a shot off passes from Alexis Methot and Frédéric Solesme to even the game.
The Jr Canadians answered quickly. At 16:31, Riley Bloom restored Ottawa’s lead, scoring unassisted to send the home side into the intermission up 2–1.
Embrun flipped the game early in the second period. On the power play at 1:26, Alexis Methot tied things again, converting a setup from Boulanger. The Panthers then took their first lead of the night at 5:49 when Yanick Blanchard finished a passing sequence involving Ethan Lamey and Owen Raine.
Ottawa pushed back in the third. Luke Going tied the game at 3:11, snapping a shot past Jake Dignard after receiving feeds from Cayden Shields and James Davidson. Embrun answered once more at 12:24, as Justin Raymond slipped a puck home to regain the lead.
With time winding down, Ottawa found the equalizer. At 15:40, Danik Marion scored a clutch goal off passes from Sydney Loreto and Sam Glover, forcing overtime.
The extra frame didn’t last long. At 3:42 of overtime, Jacob Perreault ended it, finishing a setup from Savage and Bloom to secure the comeback win for Ottawa.
Darcy Murphy earned the victory with 17 saves on 21 shots, while Jake Dignard was busy at the other end, turning aside 41 of 46 shots in an overtime loss for Embrun.
Ottawa improves to 25-7-0-0, while Embrun collects a point and moves to 7-16-5-5.
