Ottawa, ON – A four-game slate across the EOJHL on Friday night featured tight finishes, a shootout decision, and an overtime winner, with playoff-positioning points on the line throughout both divisions as Richmond, Perth, Ottawa West and Ottawa Jr Canadians all came away with victories on the road.
Richmond 4, Carleton Place 2
Carleton Place struck first just 1:50 into the game, capitalizing on the power play as Cooper Dawe finished a setup from Reid Hapke and Xavier Goussis. Richmond answered quickly, with Remy St. Amand tying the game at 2:31 off feeds from Ethan Fleming and Cooper Moore.
After a scoreless second period, Richmond took control early in the third. On the man advantage, Nevyn Trenholm put the Royals ahead at 5:19, converting a pass from Jacob Warnes. Carleton Place pulled even again at 7:40 when Brady Barnes beat Sam Nolan, but the tie was short-lived.
Richmond regained the lead at 15:24 as Nicholas Milbury finished a rush with Dylan Cutts collecting the assist, and just 29 seconds later Cutts added insurance to seal the win.
Sam Nolan made 29 saves for Richmond, while William Ross stopped 32 shots in the loss. Richmond improves to 15-17-0-2, while Carleton Place drops to 10-21-2-0.
Perth 5, Renfrew 4 (SO)
Perth jumped out early as Hayden O’Reilly and Phoenix Anderson scored first-period goals, the latter on the power play, before Renfrew responded with Mannix Hart converting with the man advantage late in the frame.
The second period saw momentum swing back and forth. Antoine Ziade restored Perth’s lead early, but Renfrew answered with power-play goals from Ian Burnett and Liam Haggerty to take a 3–2 edge. In the third, Haggerty added another to give Renfrew a two-goal cushion before Perth rallied.
Ziade scored his second of the night at 14:53 to tie the game and force overtime, where neither team could find a winner. In the shootout, Phoenix Anderson delivered the lone goal to lift Perth to the victory.
Jackson Howell turned aside 36 shots in net for Perth, while Dawson Zadorozny made 47 saves in the loss. Perth improves to 11-18-1-2, and Renfrew moves to 16-15-1-2.
Ottawa West 3, Embrun 2 (OT)
Ottawa West built an early lead with first-period goals from Noah Jones and Jason Ward, putting pressure on Embrun’s defense. The Panthers answered late in the second on the power play, with Xavier Boulanger cutting the deficit to one.
Embrun pushed the game to extra time when Boulanger struck again at 17:44 of the third, tying the contest on a late surge. Overtime ended almost instantly, as Thomas Dickey scored just 21 seconds in on the power play, finishing a feed from Antonio Zito.
Dustin Riff earned the win with 26 saves, while Jake Dignard stopped 36 shots for Embrun. Ottawa West improves to 26-4-3-1, extending their lead atop the Martin Division, while Embrun moves to 7-16-6-5.
Ottawa 7, Winchester 3
Winchester opened the scoring on the power play through Ryan Ross, but Ottawa answered late in the first as Logan Power tied the game. Ottawa took control in the second period with goals from Power, Mattias Côté, and Ryan Coughlan, building a multi-goal cushion despite a response from Vincent Anderson.
The Jr Canadians pulled away in the third, with Coughlan scoring again before goals from Sam Glover and Sydney Loreto sealed the result. Joshua Marcos added a late goal for Winchester, but Ottawa remained firmly in control.
Jackson Curran made 25 saves in the win, while Jimmy Boyd faced 44 shots for Winchester. Ottawa improves to 26-7-0-0, while Winchester falls to 15-18-1-0.
