Ottawa, ON – The Arnprior Packers continued their strong play on Wednesday night in Richmond, using a dominant second period to pull away and earn a 5–2 road victory over the Royals. Special teams and depth scoring proved to be the difference as Arnprior tightened its grip near the top of the standings.

Arnprior struck first midway through the opening frame when Andrew Mark opened the scoring at 9:14, finishing a play set up by Rowan Casey and Brendan Lynch. Richmond responded quickly, tying the game at 11:46 as Schylar Schapelhouman capitalized on a setup from Jake Madore and Gavin Landry.
The Royals briefly surged ahead late in the first period. At 16:46, Bryce Hetherington gave Richmond a 2–1 lead after converting a chance created by Parker Stretch and Remy St. Amand, sending the home side into the intermission with momentum.
That momentum swung decisively in the second period. Arnprior flipped the game in a matter of minutes, starting at 6:26 when Carter Downs tied the contest, finishing a feed from Ethan Smith. Less than a minute later, Downs struck again on the power play at 7:15, this time taking passes from Ian Kennedy and Smith to give Arnprior the lead.
The Packers’ power play stayed hot as Ian Kennedy extended the lead at 9:01, converting another man-advantage chance set up by Smith, pushing Arnprior ahead 4–2.
Arnprior put the game away early in the third period. Just 1:41 in, Ethan Smith capped the scoring, finishing a play from Cameron Sheppard and Jackson Taylor to seal the road win.
Cole King turned aside 36 shots in net for Arnprior, while Sam Nolan made 42 saves for Richmond. With the victory, Arnprior improves to 26-8-0-0, while Richmond drops to 16-18-0-2.
