Ottawa, ON – Saturday night action in the EOJHL featured two of the league’s top clubs delivering strong road performances, as Ottawa tightened its grip near the top of the Martin Division with a disciplined win in Glengarry, while Arnprior continued its dominant Richardson Division campaign with another convincing victory in Carleton Place.
Ottawa 4, Glengarry 1
Ottawa opened the scoring early in the first period when Ryan Coughlan beat Maxime Mayer at 2:29, finishing a setup from Daniel Kyte to give the Jr. Canadians a 1–0 lead.
The visitors extended their advantage in the second period as Sydney Loreto converted a play from Sam Glover and Danik Marion at 7:43. Ottawa kept the pressure on late in the frame, striking again with 32 seconds remaining when Riley Bloom buried a chance off passes from Thomas Robillard and Mattias Côté.
Glengarry responded in the final seconds of the period, as Matheason Cameron scored at 19:58, finishing a feed from Derek Larocque and Maxime Bazinet to bring the Brigade within two.
Ottawa put the game away in the third, as Jacob Perreault scored at 16:58 with helpers from Joshua Weekes and Bloom, sealing the road win.
Darcy Murphy earned the victory in net, stopping 26 of 27 shots, while Maxime Mayer made 35 saves in the loss. Ottawa improves to 23-7-0-0, while Glengarry drops to 14-12-2-1.
Arnprior 5, Carleton Place 1
Arnprior set the tone early, opening the scoring just 1:20 into the game when Ian Kennedy found the back of the net. The Packers doubled their lead later in the first as Ben Hiel finished a chance created by Rowan Casey at 12:32.
The Packers continued to build in the second period, as Carter Scott scored on the power play at 5:40, converting a pass from Andrew Mark to make it 3–0.
Arnprior added another early in the third when Colin Lalonde scored at 4:03 off a feed from Andrew Carter, pushing the lead to four. Carleton Place broke through on the power play at 7:23, with Xavier Goussis scoring from Matt Legge and Luke Humby, but that would be as close as the hosts would get.
With the Jr. Canadians pushing late, Cameron Sheppard capped the scoring with an empty-net goal at 19:30, assisted by Ethan Smith and Carter Downs.
Cole King turned aside 10 of 11 shots for the win, while William Ross stopped 30 shots for Carleton Place. Arnprior improves to 24-6-0-0, now tied for first overall in the EOJHL and widening its Richardson Division lead, while Carleton Place falls to 8-19-2-0.
