Morning Recap | Alexandria shocks OJC and Carleton Place defeats Whitewater on Tuesday

Ottawa, Ontario – The Alexandria Glens were on the road against the Ottawa Jr. Canadians at the Earl Armstrong Arena and Carleton Place was looking to continue their hot streak as they face off against Whitewater for the second straight game.

Alexandria 4, Ottawa 3

Zachary Power collects his second game winner of the season by scoring his 11th of the year with under five minutes left in the third. He extends his point to two games and has six goals in six games since joining the Glens in a trade with Casselman back in December.

Kyle Joly and Elijah Boisvert also contributed on the scoresheet with 1 G / 1 A while Reese Donnelly had two assists. Tyler Desjardins made 24 saves for his second win of the season with Alexandria. The Glens are 1-2 to start 2020.

Fitzsimmons and George Daher each tally 1 G / 1 A in the Canadians loss. Ottawa has lost two of their last three games and will play the Ottawa West Golden Knights this upcoming Thursday night.

Carleton Place 4, Whitewater 2

The Canadians are now on a four game winning streak after another big victory over Whitewater and they went 2-0 in back-to-back games against Whitewater. Connor Nicoll scores twice to extend his point streak to five games. He also has 18 goals on the season. Stef Hawkins also netted a goal for two points.

Bill Gourgon extend his point streak to four games and goal streak to two games with a goal in this game. Liam Doyle and Nick Cuddy had the only goals for Whitewater in their second consecutive loss. Shots were 30-24 in favour of Carleton Place.
