Morning Recap | Five Games

Ottawa, Ontario – There were five games on a busy Friday in CCHL Tier 2. Perth, Arnprior, Ottawa, Embrun and Ottawa West all picked up wins.

F/SO | Perth 4, Westport 3

The Perth Blue Wings were tailing 2-0 heading to the third and were able to score three unanswered goals to take the lead until Westport tied it up. Alex Caparelli collected the shootout winner and had a goal on the power play early in the third. Berry and Miller also tallied a goal in the final frame.

Perth extends their win streak to three games. Blake Kettyle scores twice and Liam Graham added a goal in the shootout loss for Westport. Both teams were tremendous on the power play by scoring two goals each. Shots were 37-31 for Perth.

Arnprior 5, Athens 4

Arnprior had to comeback twice during the game wand were able to extend their win streak to three games. Adam Church collected four goals on the night including this highlight reel goal shorthanded to tie the game.

Other notable performances from Arnprior were Joel Driscoll and Pat Bones collecting two assists and Danny Carroll on the back end, added 1 G / 1 A.

Justin Lafrance was really good in between the pipes by making 69 saves on 74 shots. Liam Silva was good offensively with three-points (1 G / 2 A). Also Kyle Gionet had 1 G / 1 A. Three of their last four games, the Aeros have made games close but have unable to finish the task but this team is very young and has to move forward. Athens had two leads in the game tonight.

Ottawa 6, Alexandria 3

Alexandria was up 3-0 going to the second and Ottawa was able to score six unanswered goals from the second period until the end of the game. Noel de Kemp collects two goals while Nicolas Seguin collected the game winner in a multi-point night. Mitchell Sturgeon had three assists and Mike Hall with two assists on the back end.

Conor Corrigan made 25 saves in the win as the shots were even at 28 during the game. Zachary Power made his debut in a Glens uniform and has impressive by collecting two goals on the night. Kyle Joly had the other marker and Nicolas Ouellette tallied two assists.

Embrun 3, Winchester 1

The Embrun Panthers lost 4-3 against Winchester a week ago in Embrun. This time, they get revenge and get another big win. Tristian Taillefer, Nathan Brown and Cayden Martin all tallied one goal for Embrun as they pick up their 16th win this season.

Colby Schroeder had the only goal for Winchester in the loss. They’ve now loss three of their last four games and are on a two game losing streak. Cole Defazio had a great game in net by making 32 saves and William Nguyen tallied 27 saves for his 11th win this season.

F/OT | Ottawa West 2, Renfrew 1

No scoring happened until the third period. Alexander Fleming got the scoring started with 6:08 to go in regulation until Jack Haymes broke Dylan Dallaire shutout with 1:59 left in the final frame. OT was needed and Jack Haymes would score 8 seconds into OT to extend the Golden Knights win streak to 12 games.

Sean Kearns assisted both of his goals during the game. Brent-Pledge-Dickson made 30 saves for his 9th win this season and Dylan Dallaire was really good in between the pipes with 35 saves after allowing six goals against Ottawa West in their second game of the season.

Both teams were 0-for-3 on the power play and it’s the Golden Knights second consecutive OT win this week after picking up an OT win on Thursday night against Richmond.
