Morning Recap | Five Games

Ottawa, Ontario – It was a busy five on the CCHL2 schedule on Friday night. Perth, Ottawa West, Char-Lan, Westport and Arnrpior were able to pick up wins.

Perth 4, Renfrew 3

Matt Berry has been on a roll throughout his first seven games with Perth, as he picked up two goals and one assist in a three-point night. It also his first game winner of the season. Jordan Currie also tallied 1 G / 1 A. The Blue Wings were 1-for-5 on the power play, as they extend their winning streak to four games. They were 5-1 in the month of December.

Nolan McGregor, Dylan Kuehl and Artyom Shiman all netted one goal in the Renfrew loss. Brad Benvenuti also collected two assists. The shots were 37-33 for Perth. Renfrew is 0-2-1 in December.

F/SO | Ottawa West 3, Alexandria 2

It was an entertaining game at the Glensgarry Sports Palace, as this game needed a shootout after OT solved nothing. Sam Brown was able to tally the shootout winner in an nine round marathon. During the game, Justin Graham and Sean Kearns had the only goals for the Golden Knights.

Ottawa West has won three straight games and were 15-1 throughout their last 16 games. Etienne Agius-Pease and Ryan Leonard scored for Alexandria as they get a point in extra time. Shots were 27-25 for the Golden Knights.

F/SO | Char-Lan 6, Embrun 5

Isaac Testani continues to roll offensively by collecting his second hat trick of the season and scored the shootout winner. He is on a 10 game point streak to start the season. Liam MacDonald and Alexandre Elie scored one goal for Char-Lan. The Rebels dominated in the OT frame by outshooting their opponents 9-0.

Robert Beaudoin and Tristian Taillefer tallied three-points with a goal and two assists, while Carter Peck and Marshall Drevniok had multi-point game in the loss. The Rebels are now 4-1 in their last five games.

Westport 7, Athens 1

Jack Smiths leads his team offensively by tallying two goals and two assists for his first four-point game. Tyler McCullough had two assists, while Owen Watson also added three assists. Westport has now won two consecutive games. They are 2-2 in December.

Samuel Gray had the only goal for Athens in another tough loss. Justin Lafrance made 50 saves for the second time this season. Westport outshot Athens 57-27.

F/OT | Arnprior 4, Winchester 3

Andrew Cuglietta caps off a multi-point night by scoring the OT winner. The Packers have now won two straight games and are 6-0-1 in their last seven games. Adam Church has points in six consecutive games by tallying one goal and one assists. James Buckley also contributed offensively with two assists.

Kyle Kuehni collected two goals in a three-point game in the loss. Eric Vitale (1 G / 1 A) and Ryan Neilsen (2 A) also tallied multi-point efforts. Shots were equal at 47. Cameron Scott also made 44 saves in the win.
