Morning Recap | Five Games

Ottawa, Ontario – It was a busy Friday night with five games and 10 teams were in action. Perth, Alexandria, Char-Lan, Renfrew, and Winchester with big wins.

Perth 3, Brockville 2

The Perth Blue Wings go to 2-2 to start 2020 with a close victory against Brockville. Jacob Servage and Trent Harris each picked up their first goals of the season. Harris’s goal turns out to be game winner. Brayden Jorssen also netted one gosl and Matt Berry added two assists.

RIley Youngs and Tanner Waito each scored once in the Brockville loss after the Tikis picked up a win against Athens on Wednesday night. Alex Zoutis turned in a good performance in net by making 27 saves for his 15th win this season.

Alexandria 8, Richmond 3

No one expected this game to go like the way it did. Alexandria scores five unanswered goals in the first and three unanswered goals in the second for a blowout win against Richmond. Zachary Power, Nico Pozzebon, Mikael Bissonnette, Graham Robertston and Etienne Agius-Pease each collected 1G / 2A for a three-point game.

Ryan Leonard was the only Glens player that was able to net two goals and also had three points. Maxime Desjardins also tallied 1G / 1A. Alexandria snaps their two game losing streak with their next game tonight in Athens.

Zanichny, Williams and Burgess each tallied their first goals of the season in the Richmond loss. The Royals are 0-3-1 to start 2020.

F/OT | Char-Lan 2, Embrun 1

It was a very tight game until the game hit overtime. Noah Konink ends the game with a multi-point effort by scoring the OT winner. Joseph Samson had the games first goal with 50 seconds left in the second period. He had 1G / 1A and snaps his three game pointless streak.

It’s the Rebels first win in 2020 and snaps their three game losing streak. Carter Peck collects the only goal in the Embrun loss. It snaps their four game winning streak. Ceili Picard makes 40 saves for his 5th win this season.

Renfrew 9, Westport 4

The Renfrew Timberwolves scores nine times in back-to-back games for the first time this season. Nolan McGregor picks up his second career hat trick while Klawitter and Kuehl each tally 2G / 2A. Austin Holmes scored in his first game in a Renfrew uniform which turns out to be the game winner.

Zach Martin continues to stay hot by tallying 1G / 3A to extend his point streak to three games. The Timberwolves have now won two consecutive games and have 15 wins on the season. Nicholson (1G / 1A) and Kettyle (2A) each tallied two points in the loss. Shots were 42-29 in favour of Renfrew.

Winchester 4, Carleton Place 3

Colby Schroeder scores with 48 seconds left to complete a third period comeback after trailing 3-2 very early in the third. It extends his point streak to two games and has 3G / 6A in his last seven games. Kuehni, Vitale and Guertin were the other goal scorers for Winchester.

Michael Patchell extends his goal streak to two games by scoring twice in the Carleton Place loss. Connor Nicoll also had the other marker. The Canadians snaps their five game winning streak. Mitchell Bradley makes 48 saves for his first regulation loss of the season. Shots were 52-37 for Winchester.
