Morning Recap | Ottawa West and Embrun pick up huge wins Thursday night

Ottawa, Ontario – It was rivalry night in the Martin Division as the Embrun Panthers took on the tough Casselman Vikings at the Jr Brisson Complex and Ottawa West was playing against Winchester on Thursday night.

Ottawa West 4, Winchester 0

The Ottawa West Golden Knights were able to win their 10th consecutive game. It’s the first time since the 2016-17 season when the Golden Knights have won 10 straight games. Brent Pledge-Dickson made 28 saves for his first shutout as a Golden Knight. They finish the month of November by going 8-0-0 and outscored their opponents 35-14 this month.

Stef Mellios and Michael Gallivan each tallied 1 G / 1 A along with two assists from Sam Brown. Bobby Dempster’s first goal back in the first late turned out to be the game winner. Morgan Wark also netted his 3rd goal this season. Cole Defazio made 38 saves in his second loss of the season. Both teams went 0-for-4 on the power play.

Embrun 3, Casselman 2

The Vikings dominated Embrun in the third period but it wasn’t enough in the end. Embrun was able to prevail after Marco Latassa made 45 saves in his debut in a Embrun Panthers uniform. He only played one game with Navan in CCHL Tier 1 earlier this season. Marshall Drevniok collected 1 G / 1 A in the first period.

It was a night of first goal’s also for Embrun. Carter Peck and Riley Carisse got their first goals of the season. Mikael Bissionnette collected two goals in another hard fought loss. The Panthers went 1-2 on the man advantage while Casselman’s power play was 0-for-3. Casselman goes to 1-1 on the week while Embrun will have two more games starting tonight. Shots were 47-21 in favour of Casselman.
