Morning Recap | Ottawa West defeats Richmond to start the second half

Ottawa, Ontario – The second half of the CCHL2 season started on Thursday night when the Ottawa West Golden Knights hosted the Richmond Royals at the Barbara Ann Scott Arena. The Golden Knights were coming into today’s game with a 2-0 record against Richmond and were able to dominate Richmond to victory.

Ottawa West 5, Richmond 1

The Golden Knights outshot Richmond 42-23 and their power play was 2-for-6 throughout the night. Noah Haymes, Nicholas McFarlane and Sean Kearns each tally 1 G / 1 A for a multi-point game. Also tally two assists were Brown, Edwards and Jack Haymes. Clay Byers also collected his first point as a Golden Knight in his first game.

Owen Nevins scored in the Richmond loss. The Royals were 0-for-7 on the man advantage and snap their nine game point streak (5-0-4). Golden Knights get their 22nd win while Richmond drops to 12-12-3. Ottawa West plays Casselman Saturday night and Richmond are at home against Embrun on Sunday afternoon.
