OTTAWA, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is thrilled to announce that Nate Curson of the Athens Aeros has been named the 2024-25 Rookie of the Year.
A 2007-born native of Mallorytown, ON, Curson had an exceptional rookie season, finishing with 39 goals and 69 points in 48 games played, leading all first-year players in both categories. His offensive prowess was highlighted by a league-leading 15 powerplay goals, demonstrating his ability to thrive on special teams. Curson also showcased his versatility, contributing with 3 shorthanded goals, illustrating his dynamic playmaking skills in all game situations.
Curson’s consistency was a hallmark of his season, with an impressive 20 multi-point performances. Whether it was scoring, assisting, or being a key factor in critical moments, he proved to be a dynamic and dependable presence on the ice for the Aeros.
In addition to his on-ice achievements, Curson’s work ethic, leadership, and hockey IQ were regularly praised by teammates, coaches, and opponents alike. His remarkable rookie campaign not only set him apart in the EOJHL but also established him as one of the league’s most exciting young talents.
