November 11/25 | Jr. Canadians Edge Vikings in Martin Division Showdown

 

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Jr. Canadians came out on top in a back-and-forth battle Tuesday night, defeating the Casselman Vikings 5-4 at home to take sole possession of first place in the Martin Division.

Jacob Perreault led the way for Ottawa with two goals and an assist, including a key third-period tally that tied the game before setting up Mattias Côté for the go-ahead goal just 28 seconds later. Côté also had a strong night with a goal and two assists, while Mathias Prud’homme-Foster added a goal and an assist, including the eventual game-winner midway through the third period.

Daniel Kyte opened the scoring with a shorthanded marker early in the first for Ottawa.

For Casselman, Mathieu Cloutier notched a pair of goals, while Thomas Ranger and Jeremy Bessette also found the back of the net. Casey Hayward contributed two assists, and goaltender Émile Pagé made 27 saves in the loss.

Jackson Curran earned the win for the Jr. Canadians, stopping 28 shots.

With the victory, Ottawa improves to 15-2-0-0 and stands alone atop the Martin Division standings, while Casselman drops to 11-3-0-0.
