November 14/25 | Timberwolves, Jr. Canadians, and Hawks Skate to Victory on a Three-Game Thursday

Ottawa, ON – It was a busy Friday night across the EOJHL, with three matchups delivering high-tempo action and standout individual efforts. Renfrew used a dominant second period to power past Perth, Ottawa continued its red-hot run with another convincing road win, and Winchester stormed back from an early deficit to take down Glengarry in a high-scoring showdown. Here’s how all three games unfolded.

RENFREW 5, PERTH 3

Renfrew erupted for five unanswered goals in the second period, rallying from an early deficit to earn a 5–3 win on the road over the Perth Blue Wings.

Perth opened the scoring at 8:54 of the first when Max Shewfelt netted his 14th of the season, assisted by Colby Hunter and Nathan Emery. But Renfrew responded with a massive middle frame, starting with Ricky Wilson’s first of the year, followed by goals from Caleb Scott, Mannix Hart on the power play, Daxton Markwick, and finally Preston Charron, who capped the surge with his ninth.

Perth attempted a late push in the third as Jack Weir scored at 13:27, and Shewfelt added his second of the game just over a minute later, but the comeback fell short.

Renfrew goaltender Dawson Zadorozny was excellent, turning aside 39 of 42 shots for the win. Rowan Williamson stopped 38 of 43 for Perth.

Renfrew improves to 9-8-1-0, while Perth drops to 5-9-1-1.

OTTAWA 4, EMBRUN 1

The league-leading Ottawa Jr. Canadians kept rolling with a strong defensive effort and balanced scoring in a 4–1 win over the Embrun Panthers.

Ottawa struck twice in the opening period, beginning with Ryan Coughlan’s fourth of the season just 2:05 in, followed by a power-play marker from Mattias Côté, who scored his 13th of the year. The momentum continued into the second where Daniel Kyte added another power-play goal, his seventh, and Mathias Prud’homme-Foster extended the lead to 4–0.

Embrun broke the shutout at 13:33 of the third when Wyatt Leblanc scored his sixth of the season.

Ottawa’s Darcy Murphy was sharp, stopping 33 of 34 shots to secure the win, while Embrun’s Jackson Howell made 36 saves in the loss.

The Jr. Canadians improve to 16-2-0-0, maintaining their spot atop the EOJHL. Embrun falls to 3-9-3-4.

WINCHESTER 6, GLENGARRY 4

Winchester stormed back from a 3–0 deficit and rode a four-goal third period to a thrilling 6–4 victory over the Glengarry Brigade.

Glengarry came out firing, with A.J. Alejandrino, Matt Lavigne, and Liam Gray scoring three unanswered goals to build a commanding lead early in the second period. But Winchester flipped the script, beginning with goals from Kaylen Connell and Isaac Bradley, who added another on the power play late in the period to pull the Hawks within one.

The third period belonged to Winchester. Trevor Tangalin tied the game on the power play at 7:41, John MacLeod gave the Hawks their first lead at 13:50, and Connell sealed the victory with an empty-netter for his second of the night.

Winchester goalie Jimmy Boyd was outstanding, stopping 45 shots in the win. Maxime Mayer faced 37 shots for Glengarry.
