November 18/25 | Ottawa Rolls to Fifth Straight Win With Commanding Effort

Ottawa 7, Smiths Falls 1

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Jr. Canadians continued their tear through the EOJHL on Monday night, overwhelming the Smiths Falls Jr. Bears with a relentless offensive showing en route to a 7–1 victory at home.

Ottawa opened the scoring early when Oskar Konobelj buried his first of the season just 2:33 into the game. Smiths Falls answered moments later, with Colton Spooner converting at 4:18 to briefly tie things up. That would be the lone highlight for the Bears, as the Canadians seized full control from there.

A barrage of goals in the second period broke the game open. Mathias Prud’homme-Foster started the surge, followed by quick strikes from Ryan Coughlan and Ryan Daze—the latter scoring twice in the frame, including a power-play marker that put Ottawa up 5–1 through forty minutes.

The Canadians didn’t let up in the third. Riley Bloom added to the lead just 79 seconds into the period before Prud’homme-Foster netted his second of the night shortly after, capping off a dominant multi-point performance. Mattias Côté, Dax Mckinnon, Danik Marion, and Riley Bloom all chipped in multi-assist efforts to fuel the win.

On the back end, Darcy Murphy turned aside 23 of 24 shots for the victory, while Cole King faced heavy pressure at the other end, stopping 37 of 44 shots for Smiths Falls.

Ottawa improves to 17-2-0-0, maintaining the best record in the EOJHL. Smiths Falls drops to 8-11-0-0.
