November 25/25 | Jr. Canadians Pull Away Late to Down Royals 5–2

 

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Jr. Canadians strengthened their league-best record on Monday night, capitalizing on key third-period goals to secure a 5–2 win over the visiting Richmond Royals. Despite Richmond tying the game early in the second and pushing back late, Ottawa’s depth and special-teams execution proved the difference as they moved to 19-2-0-0 on the season.

The Ottawa Jr. Canadians continued their dominant season with a 5–2 victory over the Richmond Royals on Monday night. Jacob Perreault opened the scoring early, but Richmond answered early in the second when Ethan Fleming buried his seventh of the year to tie the game. Ottawa regained control before the intermission on a goal from Ryan Daze, then broke things open in the third. Jason Cyr struck on the power play just 47 seconds in, followed by Ryan Coughlan to extend the lead to three. Dylan Cutts gave Richmond life midway through the frame, but the comeback bid fell short, and Joshua Weekes sealed the win with an empty-netter in the final seconds. Darcy Murphy stopped 27 shots for Ottawa, while Sam Nolan turned aside 33 for Richmond in the loss as the Royals fell to 9-9-0-1.
