November 4/25 | Curran Shuts the Door as Ottawa Blanks Athens

 

Ottawa, ON – The Ottawa Jr. Canadians continued their dominant start to the season with a 3-0 shutout victory over the Athens Aeros on home ice Monday night.

Mathias Prud’homme-Foster opened the scoring early in the first period with his fourth of the season, converting on a setup from Mattias Côté and Thomas Robillard. Robillard later doubled the lead midway through the frame with an unassisted marker, giving Ottawa a comfortable 2-0 cushion heading into the intermission.

Jacob Perreault added a power-play goal early in the third, with assists from Danik Marion and Oskar Konobelj, sealing the win for the league-leading Canadians.

Goaltender Jackson Curran was perfect between the pipes, turning aside all 21 shots he faced to record the shutout. At the other end, Marshall Greig kept Athens in the game with an impressive 42-save performance despite the loss.

With the win, Ottawa improved to 14-2-0-0 to remain atop the EOJHL standings, while Athens dropped to 3-10-4-0.
