Ottawa, ON – In Saturday night EOJHL action, Carleton Place broke out offensively on home ice against Embrun, while Glengarry extended its strong start with a shutout victory over Perth.
Carleton Place 6, Embrun 3
Carleton Place wasted no time setting the tone, striking early and often in a 6–3 win over the Embrun Panthers.
Just over a minute into the game, Ethan Shaver found the back of the net to ignite the home crowd. Goals from Brady Barnes and Matt Legge followed, giving the Jr. Canadians a commanding 3–0 lead before the first intermission.
Embrun showed pushback in the second as Yanick Blanchard cut the deficit to two, but Noah Green answered quickly to restore the three-goal cushion. The Panthers made things interesting in the third with goals from Ryan Pomerleau and Owen Raine, but Carleton Place responded every time.
Adamo Ghantous buried a shorthanded marker midway through the frame, and Xavier Goussis sealed the deal just 21 seconds after Embrun’s final goal.
Callum Clare was solid between the pipes with 23 saves to earn the win. The Jr. Canadians improve to 4-5-0-0, while Embrun slips to 1-5-1-2.
Glengarry 2, Perth 0
In Char-Lan, the Glengarry Brigade leaned on strong goaltending and a pair of clutch goals from Hayden Mader to blank the visiting Perth Blue Wings 2–0.
The game was a tight defensive battle through 35 minutes before Mader broke the deadlock late in the second period. Perth pressed hard in the third, but Maxime Mayer turned aside everything he faced, recording a perfect 29-save shutout.
Mader iced the game with an empty-netter in the final minute, securing Glengarry’s sixth win of the season.
Glengarry improves to 6-2-1-0, while Perth falls to 3-2-0-1.
