October 14/25 | Ottawa and Renfrew Earn Home Wins on Tuesday Night

Ottawa, ON – Two games were on the EOJHL schedule Tuesday night as the Ottawa Jr. Canadians continued their strong start to the season with a win over Perth, while Renfrew defended home ice against Richmond.

Ottawa 7, Perth 2

Ottawa continued its strong start to the season with a convincing 7-2 win over Perth on home ice. After falling behind early on a power-play goal from Nathan Emery, the Jr. Canadians responded with two quick strikes late in the opening frame to grab momentum. Logan Power tied the game before Danik Marion buried the go-ahead marker just 49 seconds later.

Emery briefly pulled Perth even again early in the second with his second of the night, but Ottawa roared back with five unanswered goals. Mathias Prud’homme-Foster and Jacob Perreault struck in the middle frame, while Power’s second of the game and goals from Mattias Côté and Dax Mckinnon sealed the deal in the third. Mckinnon led the way with a goal and two assists, while Power and Perreault each recorded multi-point efforts.

Darcy Murphy turned aside 19 shots for the win in goal, while Jake Dignard faced a busy night, making 37 saves in the loss. Ottawa improves to 8-1-0-0 and remains first overall in the EOJHL, while Perth drops to 3-3-0-1.

Renfrew 3, Richmond 1

Renfrew built a lead early and never looked back, skating to a 3-1 win over Richmond on home ice. Jacob Lalande opened the scoring in the first period, capitalizing on a nice feed from Mannix Hart. The Timberwolves added to their advantage early in the second when Ayden Childerhose notched his first of the season, giving the home team a two-goal cushion.

Connor Hanniman extended the lead early in the third with an insurance marker, and though Jacob Warnes got Richmond on the board midway through the frame, Renfrew held strong the rest of the way. Childerhose and Hart both had two-point nights, while Dylan Elliott was solid between the pipes, stopping 22 of 23 shots for the win.

Richard Unger made 29 saves in the loss for Richmond. With the victory, Renfrew improves to 4-5-1-0, while Richmond falls to 5-4-0-0.
