Ottawa, ON – Jacob Perreault scored twice as the Ottawa Jr. Canadians edged the Glengarry Brigade 4–3 on home ice Monday night, strengthening their hold on first place in the EOJHL standings.
Perreault opened the scoring midway through the first period and quickly added another on the power play to restore Ottawa’s lead after Matheason Cameron had tied it for Glengarry. Daniel Kyte extended the advantage late in the second, giving the Jr. Canadians a 3–1 cushion heading into the final frame.
The Brigade made things interesting in the third with goals from Matt Lavigne and Derek Larocque — both of whom had multi-point nights — to even the score. However, Dax McKinnon buried the game-winner just two minutes later off a setup from Logan Power and Carter Laforest.
Darcy Murphy stopped 17 shots in the win for Ottawa, while Maxime Mayer turned aside 37 of 41 for Glengarry in a strong effort.
With the victory, the Jr. Canadians improved to 12-1-0-0, while Glengarry dropped to 8-4-1-0.
