Ottawa, ON – This was the most important game of the season. Game 7 went down inside the Earl Armstrong Arena and Ottawa was able to win the game in double overtime to snap Casselman’s five year championship reign.

F/2OT | Ottawa 3, Casselman 2 | OJC wins series 4-3

Both teams would trade leads that didn’t last long. It started with Casselman opening the scoring from Joel Hunt on the power-play, then 37 seconds later, Thomas Freel was able to pot home his 7th of the playoffs.

The Ottawa Canadians would grab their first lead from Devin Saumur in the third but it would only last for 13 seconds. Frédérick Gagnier got his 5th of the playoffs to send the game to OT for the second consecutive game.

The First OT solved nothing but Noel de Kemp was the hero, sending the Ottawa Canadians to the championship series for the first time since 2013. Jacob Ramalho collected two assists and was one of their best players throughout the night. They will now face the Perth Blue Wings in the Barkley Cup Finals starting this week.
