Ottawa takes game one of the Barkley Cup Finals

Ottawa, Ontario – The Ottawa Jr. Canadians defeated the Perth Blue Wings 7-3 in game one of the Barkley Cup Finals on Tuesday night inside the Earl Armstrong Arena.

The game stayed very close until midway through the second period. It was 2-1 Ottawa after one and then 3-2 OJC until they scored three consecutive goals late in the second. Thomas Freel recorded five-points (2G/3A) while Johnny Pickering netted four-points (1G/3A) in the victory. Ottawa outshot Perth 43-27.

The Blue Wings goals were scored by Mack Miller and Ty Power, who had two goals, now giving him eight in the playoffs. Game two will be in Perth on Friday night.
