Perth wins game 3 to lead the series 2-1

Ottawa, ON – The Perth Blue Wings took game three 3-2 in regulation over the Ottawa Canadians to now lead the best of seven Barkley Cup Final series 2-1.

The scoring started with Mack Miller getting his 7th of the playoffs after he put his shot through the five-hole of Whitehurst. The goal came 43 seconds into the second period and also on the power-play. The Canadians would respond with under seven minutes left in the second with Tasso Housakos getting his first of the playoffs in his fifth game back from injury.

Corey Symington would score with 43 seconds left in the second to regain their one goal lead. In the third, Power would give Perth their insurance goal with under 10 minutes left in third which would seal it. Devin Saumur had a goal shorthanded but was to little too late.

Johnathan Peacock had a great performance between the pipes – making 28 saves while Ryan Whitehurst made 22 saves in OJC’s second straight loss. Ottawa went 0-for-3 on the power-play and Perth was 1-for-4 on the man-advantage. Game 4 goes tonight inside the Perth Arena where the Blue Wings have an opportunity to  take a big 3-1 lead in the series while Ottawa looks to bounce back.
