OTTAWA, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is proud to announce the Player of the Month awards for January, sponsored by Lacroix Source for Sports.
Forward of the Month: Dylan Rorwick – Richmond Royals
Dylan Rorwick, a 2004 born native of Kanata, ON led all EOJHL skaters with eight multi-point performances in January. He finished second among all skaters in Goals (10) and Assists (10), while leading all skaters with three shorthanded goals as he helped the Royals to an 8-1-1-0 record. On the season, Rorwick sits first in the EOJHL with 39 goals and 63 points.
Defenseman of the Month: Toby Almstedt – Ottawa Canadians
Toby Almstedt, a 2007 born native from Ottawa, ON led all league defenders with 13 points (3G, 10A) in January. He put together five multi-point performances, including a 3-point (2G, 1A) effort in a victory over Carleton Place.
Goaltender of the Month: Lucas Cardiff-Bilodeau – Renfrew Timberwolves
Lucas Cardiff-Bilodeau, a 2006-born native of Port Colborne, ON, posted a strong 4-1-0-0 record in January for the Renfrew Timberwolves. He stopped 181 of the 192 shots he faced, never allowing his SV% to dip below .919 in his 5 starts, which he faced 30+ shots each game. He finished the month with an average SV% of .943 and GAA of 2.15, which was best among all goaltenders to face over 150 shots.
Rookie of the Month: Dylan Turcotte – Ottawa Canadians
Dylan Turcotte, a 2007 born native of Orleans, ON had a spectacular January, leading all EOJHL skaters with 25 points (8G, 17A) in 9 games of action. His seven multi-point performances, and current 12-game point streak set him apart from the competition.
