OTTAWA, ON – The Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League (EOJHL) is proud to announce the Player of the Month awards for December, sponsored by Lacroix Source for Sports.

Forward of the Month: Rhett Palmer – Athens Aeros
The 2004 born native of Canton, NY, Rhett Palmer had a phenomenal December, totalling 16 points (7G, 9A) in just 7 games of action. His five multi-point performances, including his 4-goal performance were major reasons for the Aeros success this past month where they had a record of 6-1-0-0.

Defenseman of the Month: Sam Beauchamp – Smiths Falls Jr Bears
Sam Beauchamp, a 2004 born native from Ottawa, ON led all league defenders with 13 points (1G, 12A) in December. He put together three multi-point performances, including a 4-point effort in a victory over Winchester and a 3-point effort in a win over Glengarry. On the season, he sits 5th overall in EOJHL scoring among defensemen with 24 points (5G, 19A) in 33 games.

Goaltender of the Month: Jackson Pundyk – Perth Blue Wings
Jackson Pundyk, a 2004-born goaltender from Kanata, ON, posted a strong 4-2-1-0 record in December for the Perth Blue Wings. He stopped 247 of the 261 shots he faced, never allowing his SV% to dip below .909 in his 7 starts, which he faced 30+ shots each game. He finished the month with an average SV% of .946 and GAA of 2.00, which was best among all goaltenders to face over 150 shots.

Rookie of the Month: Nate Curson – Athens Aeros
Nate Curson, a 2007 born native of Mallorytown, ON, picked up his second consecutive Rookie of the Month honour after leading all EOJHL skaters with 17 points (8G, 9A) in 7 games of action in December. He had six multi-point performances as he helped the Aeros to a 6-1-0-0 record.
