CCHL2 Power Rankings Week 5
- Ottawa Canadians (13-0-0) | Last week: 1 | Results: 8-2W vs RCH, 9-3W at RCH | Canadians are still unstoppable after scoring 17 goals in two games against Richmond this week. They also put 101 shots on goal in those two games. Starting tomorrow they play Embrun followed by Ottawa West on Thursday.
- Casselman Vikings (10-3-0) | Last week: 2 | Results: 5-4W vs ALX, 5-3W at EMB| These were two games that the Vikings had to comeback from a deficit. They comeback down one against Alexandria and three goals against Embrun in the final minutes. This team does not quit.
- Arnprior Packers (7-2-2) | Last week: 3 | Results: 3-2SOW vs WPR | It was a close game between the two but in the end Cameron Scott’s 50 save performance was the difference. Packers will play three games against Renfrew, Winchester and a tough Perth Blue Wings this week.
- Perth Blue Wings (8-1-1) | Last week: 4 | Results: 5-4SOW at REN, 4-2W vs EMB | Very hard-fought week. Perth had to comeback down two goals to win against Renfrew before winning in a shootout. They didn’t have any problems against Embrun as they kept the lead throughout the whole game.
- Char-Lan Rebels (7-3-2) | Last week: 7 | Results: 1-0W vs OW, 3-2SOW vs WHT | Goaltending was so much better this week. Craig picked up his first shutout and they completed a comeback against Whitewater down two goals, winning in a shootout.
- Westport Rideaus (6-4-0) | Last week: 5 | Results: 4-2L at BRO, 3-2SOL at ARN, 6-3L at ALX | Tough week for Westport. They ended their road trip with a 1-2-1 record. Rideaus start their three-game home stand starting Friday.
- Carleton Place Jr. Canadians (7-5-1) | Last week: 8 | Results: 4-2W vs OW, 5-2W at WIN. 3-2OTL vs BRO | CP had to comeback in three of their games and were able to pick up two wins out of a possible three. Canadians collected five of six points this week after a tough OT loss against Brockville.
- Ottawa West Golden Knights (5-4-1) | Last week: 6 | Results: 4-2L at CPB, 5-2W vs REN, 1-0L at CHR | Golden Knights can’t seem to beat top teams at the moment. OWGK’s only win came against Renfrew by a big margin. They just can’t seem to create some offense lately.
- Brockville Tikis (4-3-1) | Last week: 11 | Results: 4-2W vs WPR, 3-2OTW at CPB | People are going to need to take this team seriously. They beat top teams in Tier 2 by at least one goal. This team is more talented then last year. There strength has been goaltending and lots of offense.
- Alexandria Glens (6-6) | Last week: 10 | Results: 5-4L at CAS, 7-4W at WHT, 6-3W vs WPR | Glens almost held onto a lead against the Vikings, but it wasn’t enough. Their last two games this week weren’t a problem. They scored 13 goals in the span of two games.
- Renfrew Timberwolves (6-6-1) | Last week: 9 | Results: 5-2L at OW, 5-4SOL vs PER | Timberwolves couldn’t keep a lead against Perth this week and were dominated by Ottawa West on Thursday. It doesn’t get any easier with three games this week.
- Whitewater Kings (3-6-3) | Last week: 12 | Results: 7-4L vs ALX, 3-2SOL at CHR | Didn’t go as planed for Whitewater this week. Kings held to a 2-0 lead against the Rebels but couldn’t close it out. Kings finished the month 1-3-2. They will remain at #12 next week because they don’t play any games this week. Next game goes after Halloween on November 1st against Ottawa West.
- Embrun Panthers (2-9-1) | Last week: 13 | Results: 5-3L vs CAS, 4-2 at PER | The Panthers just couldn’t close it out against Casselman and got dominated by Perth on Sunday. Next week will be tougher with three games.
- Athens Aeros (3-5-1) | Last week: 14 | Results: None | Aeros didn’t play this week. It is good rest for the team. They get back into action on Wednesday October 24th in Brockville.
- Richmond Royals (2-8) | Last Week: 15 | Results: 8-2L at OJC, 9-3L vs OJC | It wasn’t a shock that Richmond would allow so many goals because of back to back games against OJC. Royals have Embrun Friday then Casselman in Richmond on Sunday afternoon.
- Winchester Hawks (2-8-1) | Last week: 16 | Results: 5-2L vs CPB | Hawks held CP to a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes then Carleton Place took over the game. Winchester has now lost four straight games.
