Recap | Busy Family Day Monday in CCHL2 with four games

Ottawa, Ontario – There were a total of four games on Family Day Monday. Carleton Place took on Renfrew and Westport was on the road against Perth in the Richardson Division. On the Martin Division, the Richmond Royals faced off against Char-Lan in the afternoon while Casselman and Ottawa West renewed their rivalry in a high scoring game.

Char-Lan 7, Richmond 4

The Char-Lan Rebels snapped a four game losing on Sunday afternoon. With the game tied at three, Char-Lan were able to score four goals. Joseph Samson netted two goals for a four-point afternoon and Liam MacDonald collected two goals for three points.

Testani, Waldhauser and Elie had good performances with 1G / 1A. Ceili Picard made 40 saves for his seventh win this season. Char-Lan power play was 2-for-4. MacFarlane, Vaslet, Greene and Yates were the goal scorers in the Richmond loss. Shots were 44-34 for Richmond.

Renfrew 5, Carleton Place 2

Reid Barber scores twice while Nolan McGregor and Ben Langille each extend their point streaks to two games by collecting 1G / 1A. Langille’s 23rd of the season turns out to be the game winner. Sam Kalwitter also added two assists.

Renfrew has won four consecutive games. Dylan Dallaire made 40 saves in the win. Patchell and Woolsey each net one goal for Carleton Place. Renfrew’s power play was 2-for-6. Shots were 42-27 for Carleton Place.

Perth 6, Westport 2

The Perth Blue Wings score six unanswered goals after allowing the first goal from Connor Manderson. Carson Kazda leads the way with 1G / 2A and now has 2G / 2A in his last three games. Taylor Carlson snapped his three game pointless drought with 1G / 1A and Ryan Rivard collected the game winner.

MacKechnie, Benvenuti and Servage were the other goal scorers for Perth. Brock Boisclair had Westport’s second goal late in the third. The Blue Wings extend their winning streak to two games and have won eight of their last nine games. Perth will play the Richmond Royals on Thursday night inside TD Place. The home of the Ottawa 67s.

F/OT | Ottawa West 7, Casselman 6

It was one of the most intense games of the season. Ottawa West wins three out of four games against Casselman in the regular season. Noah Haymes scores twice to extend his point streak to 13 games. Jack Haymes (1G / 3A) and Sean Kearns (2G / 2A) each tallied four points an Sam Edwards scores a highlight reel OT winner.

Keon Trocolli-Roik snaps his 11 game goalless drought by scoring in the second. Francois Drouin extends his point streak to three games with two goals. Drouin has six goals during his three game goal streak. Xavier Léveillé had a good performance on defense by collecting three assists.

Egener, Chartrand, Paravan and Desjardins were the other goal scorers for Casselman. The Vikings are 9-0-2 in their last 11 games with one game left in the season. The Golden Knights winning streak goes to five games. Shots were 38-30 in favour of Ottawa West.
