Recap | Busy Triple-header on Sunday in CCHL2

Ottawa, Ontario – On Sunday, it was a triple-header in CCHL Tier 2 with Alexandria traveling to play Richmond in the afternoon, Brockville at home taking on Whitewater mid-afternoon and Embrun was looking to extend their winning against Arnprior in the night game.

Richmond 3, Alexandria 1

The Royals are now 3-1-1 in their last five games. Adam Goodfellow would get the go ahead goal which turned out to be the game winner very early in the third. Patrick Yates would seal the game away with a empty net goal. He has seven points in his last five games.

Richmond also has their 8th win of the season. Hunter MacPherson collected one goal in the loss and had his final game in a Glens uniform as he was traded to Char-Lan earlier today. Alexandria went 0-for-10 on the man advantage and Richmond’s power play was 0-for-5.

Brockville 4, Whitewater 2

Despite the Tikis being outshot, they were able to come up with a big victory over Whitewater. Tyler Toomey and Brad Arnott led the way with 1 G / 1 A in a multi-point game. Cole Jelly was also great on the back end by collecting two assists.

The most important thing in this game was Dylan Rothstein netting his first career CCHL2 goal which turned out the be the game winning goal. Sean Tallon and Dan Duggan each taly one goal for Whitewater. Nicholas Ciccarelli made 35 saves for his 5th win this season. Tyler Bono also tallied his first CCHL2 point in his third game as a Tiki.

Arnprior 4, Embrun 3 (OT)

The Packers somehow found a way once against to comeback 3-2 and win it in OT. Malcolm Brassard made his Packers debut and had the OT winner in a multi-point night. Kade Leggett also collected 1 G / 1 A which included his tying goal in the third period. Arnprior has now won two consecutive games against positive teams.

All of Embrun’s scoring happening in the second period from Maverick Labrie, Nathan Brown and Juno Gregoire. On the positive side, Embrun was able to take 5 of a possible 6 points this week by going 2-0-1. Their wins came against Casselman and Alexandria.

Also next week, Arnprior will play Athens on December 6th before their most important game against the Whitewater Kings. That game is happening at the Petawawa Civic Centre on December 7th.
