RECAP | Five Games

Ottawa, Ontario – The teams have been decided for the CCHL Tier 2 playoffs this year, but there were five games going on Friday night. The biggest match-up of the night was the Carleton Place Jr. Canadians taking on the Westport Rideaus. Those two teams are battling on who can finish first in the Richardson Division.

F/SO | Arnprior 3, Athens 2

The Arnprior Packers were able to survived this game and collect their 22nd win this season. Neil Duncan added two assists and scored the shootout winner. Danny Carroll and Joel Driscoll each tally one goal. Brayden Prince made 32 saves for his second victory of the season.

Jesse McCoy scores twice and Justin Lafrance was terrific in between the pipes by making 48 saves on 50 shots. Athens went 1-for-5 on the power play and Arnprior out-shot Athens 51-34.

Perth 4, Richmond 1

The Perth Blue Wings continue to stay hot by collecting their fourth straight win and their 28th win of the season. Perth is in a three way tie with Carleton Place and Westport for first in the Richardson Division. Trent Harris extended his point streak to two games by scoring twice.

Jordan Currie and Dylan MacTavish were the other goal scorers. On the back end, Brad Benvenuti added two assists. The Blue Wings are 7-1 in their last eight games and this month. Patrick Yates had Richmond’s only goal coming in the third. Shots were 42-13 for Perth.

Renfrew 3, Whitewater 2

The Renfrew Timberwolves continued their winning streak to six games with a low scoring victory against Whitewater. Nolan McGregoe (1G / 1A) and John Enright (2A) each tally two points while Zach Martin scores the game winning early in the third.

Sam Klawitter also had his goal streak to two games by scoring for the second straight game. Rogan Blais and Liam Doyle had the Kings goals. Dylan Dallaire continues to stay hot in between the pipes by collecting his fourth straight win. He made 30 saves and has allowed seven goals in his last four games. Shots were 46-32 for Renfrew.

Westport 6, Carleton Place 3

It was the first of two meetings in the month of February that could potential decide the Richardson Division title. Ty Nicholson scores his second hat trick of the season as he collected four points. Sean James continues to stay hot by collecting three assists and has a six game point streak.

Connor Manderson had the other secondary scoring with 1G / 2A. Westport snaps their three game losing streak and play Winchester in the afternoon on Saturday. Woolsey, Charbonneau and Nicoll provided the scoring for Carleton Place.

Patrick Leaver was terrific in between the pipes by making 55 saves on 58 shots and has his 14th win in his rookie year. Both team score three goals on the power play. Carleton Place out-shot Westport 58-37.

Winchester 6, Alexandria 3

It was an overall team effort by Winchester on Friday with six different guys collecting multi-point night. Winchester extends their winning streak to six games. Fleming, Kuehni, Haw and Nielsen each tally 1G / 1A. Eric Vitale collects 30 goals in his first CCHL2 season and Danny Johnson (3A) has 31 assists on the year.

Cole Defazio made 39 saves in the win. Nico Pozzebon scores twice to get his point streak up to three games and his goal streak to two games. Zachary Power continues to stay hot by tallying three assists. It extends Power’s point streak to eight games.

Alexandria was 2-for-6 on the power play and Winchester was 1-for-3 on the man advantage. Alexandria out-shot Winchester 42-40. Winchester faces off against Westport in an afternoon game and Alexandria travels to Williamstowo to play the Char-Lan Rebels on Saturday.
