Recap | Five Games on a busy Friday night

Ottawa, Ontario – It was a busy Valentines Day on Friday night with five important games as teams are battling for a spot in the playoffs.

Casselman 6, Alexandria 4

The Vikings continue to roll by winning their ninth straight game. Francois Drouin and Samuel Lacroix were able to snap out of a pointless streak by scoring twice while Xavier Léveillé collects 1G / 1A. He has five goals and five assists in his last six games. Zachari Racine turned in a good performance by making 29 saves.

Lefebre (1G / 1A) and Power (2A) each collect two points in the Alexandria loss. Shots were 46-33 in favour of Casselman. Alexandria’s power play went 1-for-5 while Casselman was 0-for-4. Alexandria has loss six consecutive games and are in action for third consecutive day on Saturday against Athens.

Ottawa 2, Embrun 1

This game was expected to be very tight, but the Ottawa Jr. Canadians pick a big two points and sit second in the Martin Division with 60 points. The Canadians also go to 3-0-1 in their last 10 games. Noel de Kemp collects 1G / 1A and extends his point streak to four games.

Mike Hall would score the game winner late in the second coming on a power play. Tristian Taillefer collects his 28th goal in the Embrun loss. It snaps the Panthers three game winning streak. Ryan Whitehurst made 34 saves for his 16th win this season.

Renfrew 2, Perth 1

The Timberwolves were down 1-0 heading into the third period and were able to complete by scoring twice. Sam Klawitter collect the tying goal and Noah Maika would score the game winner with 10:12 left in regulation. Klawitter extends his goal streak to two games.

Renfrew has won two consecutive games. Carson Kazda had Perth’s only goal in the loss. Dylan Dallaire made 36 saves and added one assist on Maika’s game winner. Shots were 37-35 in favour of Perth. The Blue Wings snap their six game winning streak.

F/OT | Arnprior 4, Westport 3

Seth Gillingham scored the shootout winner to give Arnprior their 20th win. Adam Chruch collected a goal in the first and an assist on Jacob Cover’s tying goal with one minute left in regulation. Campitelli would add two assists and Pat Bones extended his point streak to three games by scoring his third goal this season.

Ty Nichoson collected 1G / 2A for a three game point streak while James and Kettyle each had 1G / 1A. With Kettyle’s assist in the first, he now has 50 assists in his final year of junior hockey. Kettyle is also four goals away from hitting 40 on the season. Shots were 47-43 for Arnprior.

F/OT | Winchester 4, Richmond 3

Ryan Nielsen scores the OT winner to give Winchester their fifth consecutive win. Nolan Guertin collect two goals and an assist for a three-point night. Colby Schroeder also added three assists for his second three-point game of the season.

Danny Johnson extends his point streak to four games by scoring his 15th goal of the season. Yates, Taylor and Nevins eahc scored once in the Richmond loss. Darien Johnson had to be sharp in net by making 56 saves on 60 shots. Lucas Devries made 27 saves in the WInchester win.
