Ottawa, Ontario – It was a busy Friday night in CCHL Tier 2 as four games were happening. There were two games that feature division match-ups and two games that were
Embrun 6, Alexandria 2
Eric Skyba led the way offensively by tallying 2 G / 2 A in a four-point night. He also extends his point streak to four games. Tristian Taillefer also had another good night with 1 G / 1 A while Brennan and Drevniok collected 1 G / 1 A.
Ryan Primeau (ROC U18) played in his first game in an Embrun Panthers uniform and Simon Batista (HAW U18) also played his second game with Embrun. Kolten Oakes-Cook and Pozzebon netted one goal in the loss. The Panthers have now won two consecutive games.
Char-Lan 6, Renfrew 4
It was a high scoring game but the Rebels were able to come out with a win to get their team to .500 for the second time this season. There were lots of contributions from a lot of players for the Rebels. Joseph Samson collected two goals and Isaac Testani had 1 G / 1A as both players had two points during the game.
Kale MacCormick would get the game winner late in the third period. Ceili Picard made 38 saves for his first win in a Rebels uniform. Char-Lan has now won two consecutive games. Zach Martin collected two goals in the loss for Renfrew. Shiman and Maika also had two assists offensively.
Perth 3, Westport 0
Alex Zoutis gets his first shutout against his former team for the first time of his CCHL2 career. He made 42 saves and collected an assists on Perth’s Third goal from Brayden Jorssen. The Blue Wings got two goals in the second period from Payton Jardine which turned out to be game winner and Brendan Lynch.
The Blue Wings have now won two consecutive games. Westport did out-shot the Blue Wings 42-38. Westport also snapped their two game winning streak.
Winchester 4, Athens 3 (OT)
The Athens Aeros had a 3-1 lead at one point during the game but Winchester tied the game in the second period and the game went to OT. Ty Whyte who plays for U18 Kemptville 73s got the OT winner and also his first career CCHL2 goal. He now has 1 G / 1 A in two games as an AP.
Kyle Green, Noah Weatherall and Danny Johnson all got one goal for Winchester while Ryan Neilsen had a good night on the back end by collecting three assists. Athens got goals from Kohle McCullouch, Malcolm MacDonald and Nolan Brien got goals as Athens were able to pick up a point for the second consecutive game. Justin Lafrance was excellent in between the pipes by making 50 saves.
