Ottawa, Ontario – On Sunday, there were two games in the afternoon and two more at night to end the first week of the second half.
F/OT | Embrun 5, Richmond 4
Matthieu Brennan spoiled the Richmond comeback as he picked up the OT winner, Cayden Martin leads his team offensively by tallying two goals in a four-point performance. Marco Latessa makes 39 saves for his third win as a Panther. Embrun extends their winning streak to two games.
Richmond had a character performance when they came back down 4-1. Patrick Yates tallies two goals for three points and Ryan Mann added four assists in the OT loss. Goodfellow and Gilmour also contributed on the scoresheet with 1 G / 1 A. Shots were equal at 43.
Carleton Place 7, Whitewater 2
It was a dominating performance by Carleton Place at the Cobden Arena on Sunday afternoon. They limited Whitewater with 8 shots in the first two period. Stef Hawkins and Bill Gourgon each scored while Ethan Woolsey and Jacob Bertrand netted one goal for three points.
Patchell also added four assists to extend his point streak to three games. Burkhart and Schimmens had the only goals for Whitewater in the loss. Shots were 37-14 for Carleton Place and went 3-for-6 on the power play. The Canadians have won three consecutive games.
Arnprior 4, Char-Lan 2
Adam Church continues to stay hot after getting the player of the month award for December, as he netted his second hat trick of the season. The first goal came in the first at even strength and his last two came on the power play. Jared Campitelli and James Buckley also got on the scoresheet with two points.
Cameron Scott was once against great in between the pipes by making 31 saves and collecting an assist on Campitelli’s 13th of the season. Noah Konink and Isaac Testani netted the only goals for Char-Lan. Arnprior has won four consecutive games and are 9-0-1 in their last 10 games.
Perth 3, Athens 2
It was really close game from start to finish but Perth was able to survived a late comeback from Athens in the third. Brayden Jorssen netted two goals including the game winner early in the third. Mack Miller also tallied his 13th of the season and nine points in his last five games (3 G / 6 A).
Matt Berry continues to have a hot stick by adding two assists. Berry has six goals and seven assists in nine games since joining the Blue Wings. Connor Bell and Eric Mitchell score for Athens. Justin Lafrance turned out to be great against his former team by making 33 saves. Athens are still in search of their first win of the season.
