The Ottawa Canadians were able to win a low scoring affair in the first of five meetings against the five-time defending Champs, Casselman Vikings. Tasso Housakos gave the Ottawa Canadians the 1-0 lead in the second period.
The Canadians would get a two-goal lead late in regulation after Constantine Tzougarakis scored to cap off a multi-point effort after he had an apple on the first goal. Defenseman Mike Hall also collected two assists in the game.
Kyle Green would get the Vikings within one, but it wasn’t enough. Nicholas Campbell made 32 Saves in the loss while Ryan Whitehurst got the win, making 26 saves. The Canadians outshot the Casselman Vikings, 34-27.
